We May Be Down but Were Not Out.

Not a long trip this evening, no need to turn Tom or Snoopy on to keep me company and not  a Grand occasion for me to report on, but to me it will always be a special evening when I attend my own Mark Lodge in Urmston.

The name comes from two Lodges which were amalgamated in July 2007, Shepherd Eastwood was founded in 1953 and was a Double Keystone Lodge whilst Flixton was founded in 1958 and was also a Keystone Lodge.

The photograph below shows:
The Master Bro. Stuart Boyd, and the member clearly enjoying themselves.

The two Lodges joined together in great style and the offices were shared out with no problems whatsoever, we have gone along in good heart and harmony since that time but due to the passing away of several members especially since December 2012 we began to get really concerned as to whether we could carry on!

At our meeting on Friday 10th May we had to obviously discuss the situation and in the true spirit of the Degree as always displayed by our PGM we voted unanimously to continue.

To celebrate this decision we had a proposal for a Candidate, a Joining Member and a Re-Joining member (and more than likely another Candidate)

I can’t tell you how personally delighted I was that this wonderful Lodge which has been in existence for over 60 years and has been honoured with many caring, generous and big hearted members will go on hopefully to reach its first 100 years, a fitting memory and tribute to all those who have gone before.

All Mark Masons are most welcome to attend our Lodge and we would be delighted to see you, the next meeting is, Monday 21st Oct 2013 (Installation) and Monday 24th February 2014 (Advancement)
